Bluetooth dongle - Is it needed any configuration?

Hi,
I am trying to improve Bluetooth connection distance since I need 10 meter distance between sensors and Receiver.
Bluetooth receiver's antenna seems not able to reach this distance, so I would like to add a dongle to improve this distance.
My questions are:
1, Do I need any configuration?
2. Can I buy any Bluetooth dongle or there are some specification I have to know?

    1. Make sure to use our APIs to get maximum antenna gain.
    2. Don't buy a cheap dongle. Make sure it's well reviewed and works for your system.
