Logging data from gpio pin

Hello,

I have a question on how to log data from the board with the gpio pin using the sample android app.
It logs accelerometer data but when I try to log data from gpio pin 0,  the app crashes.
Could someone please tell me how to get a stream of data? I'm just hooking up a function generator to the pin to test it.
