Newbie requesting advice

Hello

I know some java and have recently started studying on how to make android apps and would like to know which topics are strongly recommended for me to study. The app I want to make is very similar to the MetaBase app but there's no template of it.

In my future app (using the API 3.+) I want a:

"start" button which make the meta motion R start logging data from the sensor fusion (EulerAngles and Acceleration)

and a "stop" button to stop the logging and download the data to my phone.

I'm having a hard time identifying how the templates available on Github work and need some guidance on what to study so i can understand them.

You can begin with the LED example from the starter template. Follow the README instructions to create an app that turns off/on the LED.

Once you're comfortable with coding that app, you can modify the example to instead log data instead of turn on the LED and download data instead of turning off the LED. You may find SharedPreferences useful in your app.
