Offset in the linear acceleration MetaMotion R

Hello,

Normally, the accelerometers measure an acceleration static relate to force of gravity (depending of the sensor position) and an acceleration dynamic relate to movements and vibrations.

I'd like to obtain only the dynamic acceleration without the level offset because of the acceleration static.

Could I to remove the level offset for reading only the variations caused for the movements and vibrations ?

Thank you very much,

  • Use the sensor fusion algorithm to retrieve linear acceleration data.

  • Actually, I did the important test which I took the information related to:

Accelerometer (Static + dynamic) measure in (g)
    Gyroscope measure in (deg/s)

Could I to obtain the Linear acceleration with this information, it means could I to retrieve linear acceleration with this information ?

    Thank you very much Eric.

You could, as that's what the sensor fusion algorithm does. In your case, you will need to find your own library to do the appropriate calculations or just redo the test with the built in sensor fusion algorithm.

  • Excuse me, where can I find this algorithm ?
Dou you sell it or is free ?
    Thank you very much.

The MetaMotion boards come with a sensor fusion algorithm in the firmware.
