linear acceleration with rotation movement

https://youtube.com/watch?v=Rw4GPguDQn8&feature=youtu.be

Hello everyone,

I bought a meta motion C sensor and just started using it. I met a problem when I used it to measure the linear acceleration. As you can see from the video, the sensor has a rotation movement firstly and stopped moving.

The picture shows the linear acceleration data from the app. We can know that the sensor started a rotation at 3.6s, and stopped moving at 4.2s. During the time period from 4.2s to 5s, there is no movement and the linear acceleration along each axis should be near zero. However, there is a 0.01g linear acceleration along the y-axis and -0.01g acceleration along the x-axis. I have no idea why this happens. Did I have any misunderstanding about the linear acceleration?

  • Sensors are not perfect and always have some margin of error in their values.

    Thank you.
