Proximity sensing

Is there any way to use metawear as a proximity sensor? e.g detect my hand getting closer to the board and then trigger an event (send something to my laptop using bluetooth connection)

    We are planning on adding a proximity sensor on a future variant of the board but current MetaWears do not have this sensor on board.
