Make own firmware .

I have purchased metawear C sensor . and i wanted to change in firmware , is it possible to change in firmware ? if so, what is the procedure to change in firmware ? which kind of hardware we require ?

And if i wanted to make my own firmware , what is the procedure to make own firmware and require hardware ?
