Interested in using MetaWear for a project, but don't know if it can be used the following way

Hi, I'm considering using the MetaWear as a base for a prototype activity monitor that I'm working on designing.

The sensors that I'd need to read would be the accelerometers, and two reed switches for wheels. From what I've garnered on MbientLab's site, I can connect the two reed sensors via the DIO0/1 pins.

The question though is this, can the MetaWear's software be configured to send the iPhone or Android phone a notification when it's been triggered (to count a complete revolution of a wheel)? If it's possible, I'll be getting two MetaWear so me and a coworker can start immediately in making this activity monitor. If not, I'm going to have to wait until the new TinyDuino boards are released.

MetaWear can send notifications when any of the DIO pins change state (0 -> 1, 1 -> 0).
The short answer is yes, you can use MetaWear to do this.
