Sensors time sync

Following a bit what here: https://mbientlab.com/community/discussion/comment/9468#Comment_9468, sometimes there is an important lag in timestamps.
May I ask what is the technique for synchronizining clocks of different devices? Is it Reference Broadcast Synchronization?
And also: is this lag constant all over the switched on period for the sensors? Because if so, one could easily calculate the timelag between devices with the approach suggested in the link.

    The lag will be phone and conn settings (bluetooth setting) specific.
    You may be able to calibrate this lag out of your setup but we are not planning on doing anything for this (there are too many devices on the market and we don't have the manpower to support them all).
