Rechargable battery

 
MetawareCPRO is using "CR2032" battery

We are planning to use "rechargable batteries". We would like to know your inputs and recommendatations.

Comments

  • It is not recommended to use a LiPo rechargeable battery with the CPro as there is no protection circuitry on the C boards.  If you need a MetaWear board with a rechargeable battery, then pick up a R variant instead.
  • What is  R variant ?
    Any recommendation? what is the one you are using now.   We are learning, and hope to learn from you, so that we can pass it on to our customer.
  • R variant as in MetaWearRG or MetaMotionR.  Unless you need the magnetometer and/or sensor fusion, RG will suffice.

    Since battery consumption or battery life is important to
    us; we need to optimize it as much as possible. Out of those 3 components (Gyroscope,
    accelerometer, and magnetometer) in MetawareCPRO, which one consumes more battery
    for – let us say, at 100 Hz (for all three).

     If the differences
    are significant, we will take action accordingly. 

  • Also, for Metaware CPRO, what is your recommendation on the battery?  We do need to use magnetometer.


  • Gyro consumes the most power; you should only use it if needed.

    If you want to use the C form factor, you will have to use the CR2032 batteries.  If you want the rechargeable LiPo batteries, use a MetaMotion R board.

    Do you have any estimate figures (ballpark) for all three

    If we increase the # of samples (Hz), would the battery usage increases linearly?

    Regarding your 2nd questions, it's tough to say.  You will have to experiment with it yourself by using the board as you would in the field while recording the battery voltage until the battery have been depleted from 100%.  Repeat the process with different data rates.
