Magnetometer not outputting correct data
Hi All! I have to MetaMotion R sensors. I am streaming the following data points to my ios device using the MetaBase app.
Acc @ 100 Hz, 16G
Gyro @ 100 HZ, 2000/s
Magnetometer @ 25Hz
I also tried the following combination but the results were the same.
Acc @ 50 Hz, 16G
Gyro @ 50 HZ, 2000/s
Magnetometer @ 25Hz
I have two issues:
1. One of the sensors doesn't show any fluctuation in the magnetometer data at all. Can someone help me out in fixing this? I contacted metaBase and send them my diagnostic report - they said that the sensor is working fine.
Please find attached a visualization of the data. (The visualization is created using python from the raw data that I downloaded from the metaBase app)
- Since I am streaming two sensor data on the same device, I am essentially using (100+100+100+100+25+25) Hz bandwidth. Would you suggest me to log the data instead of streaming it? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both? Ideally, I would like to have the capability of streaming the data.
Thank you,
Ishaani

It's possible there is something wrong with the magnetometer. Try re-uploading the firmware first, and if that doesn't resolve your problem, try the troubleshooting tips (https://mbientlab.com/troubleshooting/). If your magnetometer is still stuck, submit and RMA form (https://mbientlab.com/rma/).
MetaBase can handle streamed data at those frequencies from 2 boards.
