MetaWare App Logged Data Missing after Download

edited February 2019 in iOS

As part our effort to investigate the timestamp error , we've been running the following manual steps with the MetaBase app (latest version)

  1. Enable Logged Linear Acceleration
  2. Log for 15-45 seconds
  3. Download & Save
  4. Repeat 1 - 3

After about 6 to 7 tests, the prompt for filename after download completion does not show up.

See video

This occurred with multiple sensors.

    • Does this consistently happen on the 6th or 7th use?
    • The data does in fact not show up anywhere on your device?
    • Can you successfully retrieve the data if you download to another device?
    • Which version of MetaBase are you using? Provide a version string, not "latest".

No. It could be 5th, or 10th or 15th. The only trend is that it could happen after some repeated usage.

    • The data does in fact not show up anywhere on your device?

After the first incident, the issue in the video repeats. This is how I was able to record it.

Without the prompt to save, is there another way to download the logged data?

After killing the app manually (swipe up), normal function resumes. There are no old data from prior to killing the app in newly download CSV.

    • Can you successfully retrieve the data if you download to another device?

We did not try to connect to different iOS device.

    • Which version of MetaBase are you using? Provide a version string, not "latest".

    APP = 4.1.2. Sensor FW = 1.4.4

  • @gjin,

Have you tried exporting in a different format. Sometimes emailing the data loses a few data files but if you text the data or use Dropbox/BOX to sync, it works just fine.

Try to export your data in a different way then you currently do.

  • @Laura

The problem isn't related to export or file format.

The "Name Session" prompt does not show up after completing the download.

In the video that I posted above, fast forward to about 35 seconds, and you can see that the app just skip that step all together. The session is lost.

Normally, we see the following prompt, and that is missing.

  • Can you confirm that by the time you are ready to download, the sensor is in record mode and advertising for a connection?
Does this happen at all when streaming?

  • Issue has been identified and fix will be in version 4.2.3 due out in a week.

As a workaround, force quit and restart the app after the 4th download.

    Thanks,
    Stephen
