Connecting external spectral sensor to MetaMotionR/C

I would like to add to MetaMotionR/C an external Spectral-sensor. Specifically, I would like to connect SparkFun Spectral Sensor Breakout (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/14351).
So that it is possible to connect external sensors via the GPIO pins in another discussion (https://mbientlab.com/community/discussion/2956/connection-to-external-flex-sensors). But I was unable to understand if this is also the case for me and if I will be able to observe the SparkFun data through the MetaMotionR/C sensor.
Thank you in advance.

  • Looks theoretically possible as the SparkFun Spectral Sensor Breakout has I2C pins and is 3V compliant.

Thank you for your quick answer.
Will using the I2C connection (setting it to 3V) allow me to collect/read the spectral-sensor's sampling through the MetaMotionR, just like any information sampled with MetaMotionR (such: Barometer/Pressure/Altimeter, etc.)?
How do I set the connection? Do I need to establish the communication somehow through the I2C connection in order to notice the MetaMotionR about the additional sensor connected?

    Thanks again.
