3. Metabase App

We provide the MetaBase App which allows you to configure your MetaSensors and access the sensor data. MetaBase is available on Windows, iOS, and Android App stores for FREE.

3.3. Compatibility

The MetaBase App is available for Apple devices including iOS, macOS, and tvOS which means it will work on all of your Apple devices including tablets, phones, laptops, and TVs:

  • iPhone 4s or newer.
  • iPad 3rd generation or newer.
  • iPod touch 5th generation or newer.

The MetaBase App is available on Android devices:

  • Android 4.4 or newer.
  • Make sure it is a proper Android device (beware of cheap Chinese Android tablets and refurbished 10 year old Taiwanese phones, they will not work reliably. We recommend Google endorsed devices 5 years old or newer).

The MetaBase App is also available for Windows:

  • Windows PCs running 10 or newer.
  • Your Windows machine will need to be Bluetooth Low Energy compliant. You may need a Bluetooth Dongle for this like this one.
  • Your machine will need to be on the Fall Creator’s Update. Check here.

The MetaBase App is also available for Linux:

  • All Linux OSs are supported. Our examples and tutorials all run on the RaspberryPI3.
  • You can make your own by following the steps here.
  • You can purchase our MetaHub that comes pre-loaded with everything you need here.

3.4. Setup

To use the MetaBase App, follow the steps:

  • Make sure Bluetooth and WiFi are ON.
  • Make sure your device is Bluetooth 4.0 compliant and Bluetooth is ON.
  • Go to your favorite App store.
  • Search for “MetaBase”.
  • Download the MetaBase App.
  • DO NOT use the settings screen or menu of your device to connect to your MetaSensor.
